Foundations of Interpretation April 6-14

This course covers all of the elements of beginning interpretation as defined by the National Association for Interpretation: Foundational principles, connecting to purpose, Themes and Organization, Relevance and Enjoyability, Creativity and Presentation Skills. It runs in tandem with a Certificate in Interpretive Guiding course but does not earn the NAI certificate.

Class is a mix of instruction, discussion, live exercises, worktime, and breaks to mitigate Zoom fatigue. Students must attend all classes synchronously on Zoom, including the presentations of the other students. A Certificate of Completion will be issued by Stage Naked / The Impact Story.

  • April 6-10 (M-F), 1:00-5:00 pm Eastern time. Mixed Instruction, workshopping, and in-class worktime.

  • April 13 (Monday), 10:30 am-5:30 pm Eastern Time. From 1:00-3:00 Eastern, there will be final instruction. The rest of the day will be one-on-one meetings to prepare for your final presentation. You are not required in the Zoom space except for class and your individual meeting time.

  • April 14 (Tuesday), 1:00-5:30 pm Eastern time. Final presentations. Class on this day can run a little long so please be prepared to be flexible with our end time on this final day.

  • There is no instruction on Saturday or Sunday.
